Our first and unfortunately, last booking with this charter company. The catamaran Lagoon 450 Sport“I Love Anna” was not in a pristine state when picked up which was communicated to the base manager. The skipper we have arranged (our long-term partner) made minor damage during the trip and then the problems started. Sailor Expert refused to accept the Croatian skipper's insurance policy and took the entire 3000 € deposit from the client. Our request for proof of the damage and an invoice was completely ignored for nearly two months. Just after our lawyer and MMK assisted, we received an invoice but with fictive costs and not many details. Our lawyer asked for an explanation, again requesting proof of the damage and invoices for the broken parts, but the charter ignored our lawyers and their two official notices, as they had done before. From our trusted source we know that they did not pull the catamaran out of the sea to repair the damages which they said they did. Completely uncooperative and unprofessional. Pros:
- the office location is very close to the pier
- the pier is not in the marina

Cons
- the gear box of the anchor winch failed on the 2nd charter day during normal usage. The winch was not loaded extra, the anchor did not catch anything under the water. It just failed because the part was too old. The charter company requested us to beat for 4 hours to a marina whre a technician has been sent. We lost 1 day totally from our charter time.
But this is not all, now comes the really ugly part. We have been charged for the spare part and for the labour.


Conclusion:
Charter this company only if you are willing to be charged for the replacement of their old hardware with new one.

Seriously the worst charter company ever. How they are still getting away with this I have no idea. (I've written a full review of our experiences on Trustpilot). Their modus operandi appears to be to offer old, unserviced, poorly equipped boats - usually not even the boat that was booked, sometimes in a different location. A professional team consisted of wonderful people!

We chartered Blue Odyssey (Beneteau Oceanis 46.1) three times in 2022. The yacht was always in a very good condition, thoroughly maintained and clean to the detail. It is taken care as if it were privately used, and this is very much appreciated by our guests.
The Bluetiful team was gone the extra mile to accommodate a smooth and up to Salparo's standards check-in and welcoming process, even helping with transfers and provisioning.
The technical support during the charter was immediate and very friendly, even though it was barely needed.

Something else that stood out, is the location where Blue Odyssey is docked. A small, low-key and picturesque harbour, away from the crazy rhythms of Athens, Nea Paramos is well protected from strong winds and waves, and offers the relaxing vibes someone needs to start their sailing trip.

Very much recommended, even if this can lead to lower availability for us!
I am looking forward to continuing this seamless cooperation.

Client got such a poorly maintained yacht that he had never seen in 30 years of charter.
Defects were all denied and other points of view communicated to the customer.

Customer chartered a new Dufour 470 (2022) on Kos. Yacht was offered without a self-tacking jib (also asked 3x!) - at the jetty then the realization that the yacht has a self-tacking jib.
Provider's reason – you had to swap the yacht.
When asked for a small amount of compensation, the provider referred to the terms and conditions and that he could have withdrawn - the customer was already standing at the jetty!
Yacht was already in a very bad condition!

A second customer was also offered extras that didn't even exist!
As long as the yacht is sailable, there is nothing to complain about - according to Fyly on Mykonos

The worst charterer in the world!
I am writing this on the basis of many years of professional sailing experience all over the world.

I will limit myself to a brief summary, because a book could be written on the basis of these cruises

The charter was carried out for our clients with our skipper.
In total, we charter three yachts over a two-week period.

The yachts were delivered dirty, in terrible condition, they lacked basic equipment.
There was no fire extinguisher, refrigerators not working and basic indicators, toilets clogged and out of service.
Any requests for repair were unsuccessful.
Nobody did the handover of the yacht on board. The yachts were handed over in a different place than it was stipulated in the contract - Old city port, without electricity and water, yachts moored alongside to tourist boats (very dangerous transfer from boat to boat).

Golden compas requires you to pay the deposit in cash or by bank transfer (not compatible with Visa and Mastercard).
For a two-week charter, they asked to pay the transit log twice, even though the yacht was DIRTY each time!

However, the worst thing is that the crew was in real danger twice as a result of negligence and the terrible condition of the yachts.
(I will not describe in detail here, please contact us if you are interested)

I have the impression that Golden Compas is counting on a serious failure so they can blame the charterer and take his deposit.

The crews returned happily only thanks to the determination and skill of the skippers and crews.

Very bad experiences few years ago. There was a damage on the yacht due to poor maintanace of yacht. Client had to find the service man by himselves, had to pay for the repair. The company than didn´t want to refund the paid amount saying that the client caused the damage. Client than get a report from the service men, that the damage was caused by rusted part. Anyway, on check-out, base manager again refused to the return of money paid for reparation, he agreed after a long time discussion , when the client decided to call police. A different modell was delivered, we were not informed about this. Our guests were told directly on spot. It was a very uncomfortable checkin with an unexperienced guy with no motivation. Small issues came up during the trip. At the checkout they were very strict (unfort.) and suddenly two professional guys were checking everything, did not trust our prof. skipper. Dear Nadia, I am very sorry clients did not report the unsatisfaction regarding the cleaning immediately – we would send the cleaning ladies to fix it – it can always happen they miss something, but we are always there for the clients. Regarding sail– if client does not wish to wait for the repairment – we are sorry, but than we improvise. They would have gotten the sail on Sunday morning, and they sailed out on Sunday morning around noon anyway – so I honestly don’t know why they refused the repairment. At the check out they told our skipper they used the sail normally without any problems. SUP – unfortunately, yes, this was our mistake – Jelena missed it when confirming the booking, send you the proforma without it – but nobody noticed ☹. Anyway, we will keep up the high standards, no worries – but unfortunately, things happen.
