Lagoon 52S

DESCRIPTION

The 52 represents a whole new period in cruising catamarans’ design, as did its predecessor, the famous 500.

With its diamond-shaped vertical bows, beveled hulls, its levitated deckhouse, and tall rig, the 52 is no ordinary catamaran. Still, its originality goes far deeper than its “outer” appearance or even its internal layout.

52: luxurious and conteporary

  • Noble and comfortable fabrics, warm colors for a harmonious interior.
  • Continuous horizontal and fluent lines offer open and generous interior spaces.
  • Continuity in inner and outer life
  • The slim exterior architecture of a boat with a robust character

Lagoon expertise

  • Infusion-modeling for increased weight savings (significant for catamarans), an optimal structure, and greater security for the environment and shipbuilders.
  • Interior woodwork in reconstituted Alpi ® wood, a sustainable source
  • Vertical glazing for improved protection against sunshine and maximum space and headroom.
  • Gull-wing bridge deck for comfort in the rough seas
  • A wide variety of configurations from 3, 4, 5, or 6 cabins, with 3, 4, or 5 washrooms, respectively.
  • Design of VPLP: efficiency under sail guaranteed!

Exterior: beauty, comfort, and protection

  • The boat is accessed via wide aft transoms, which facilitate boarding and disembarking.
  • Big side decks with deck hatches.
  • The cockpit is level with the saloon. It has a sun lounger on the starboard side.
  • The construction of the cabin-top provides a more elegant and fashionable roof.
  • A large sunbathing area on the cabin roof.
  • The sailing areas are the same as the FlyBridge edition. The lower mast and the boom, however:
      • reduces pitching
      • makes getting to the boom easier
  • The cockpit bulkhead fitted to the steering position shall contain the following:
      • all the maneuvers
      • integrated comfortable chair station for 2 persons
      • access to the cockpit and the side deck
      • an optional extra protection system is also offered, with a tilting composite beam (optional) to close the steering station in bad weather.
      • the bimini composite above the steering area is available as an alternative.

Rigging: efficiency and user-friendliness

The decision to locate the further mast aft comes directly from the racing experience of the designers and has many advantages for the sailing catamaran:

  • A wide forward triangle makes a greater option of sails: a promise of excellent results.
  • The shorter boom makes it much easier for the mainsail to navigate
  • The mainsail, which is comparatively narrower and higher, benefits from better winds at the tip, thereby improving speed.
  • By re-centering the weight, pitching is significantly decreased.

Interior: comfort, space, light …

  • The saloon consists of a lounge and a dining table on a starboard side, a large galley forming a “U” to hold a chart table in the center, facing out to the sea.
  • The “U” galley is fitted with large hot plates, a large workroom, and plenty of storage space.
  • The circulation in the lounge is optimized between the lounge and the galley.
  • Both cabins have wide double beds, storage space in line with the boat’s offshore sailing program.
  • The cabins have natural lighting because of the fixed hull windows, along with excellent ventilation thanks to the deck hatches.
